Mount Laverna Friary is situated in Ja Ela in the archdiocese of Colombo. Mainly the TOR Franciscan Friars who service at Loyala College, Bopitiya are assigned in this fraternity. They also support the neighbouring parishes, religious houses and convents in their spiritual and pastoral needs.
TOR Franciscan Purnodaya is attached to the Mount Laverna Friary, Ja Ela in the Archdiocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The purpose of this institute is to give education to the school drop outs, less privileged children and children of law income families irrespective of their social and religious background.
This institute is also open for those who are in need of Counseling, Sacrament of Confession, Spiritual Direction and any other spiritual assistance.
Fonte Colombo Fraternity is situated at Senakudirippuwa, Puttalam in the Diocese of Chilaw, Sri Lanka. The purpose of this fraternity is to witness the Franciscan presence in the missionary regions.
TOR Franciscan Postulancy is attached to this fraternity.
Postulancy is the first stage of formation and the period in which a candidate makes the initial decision to live in fraternity in our Order. The postulant gradually comes to know our life and our work, and on the other hand, the fraternity has the opportunity to get to know him and to evaluate his vocation.
The purpose of postulancy is to prepare the candidate for entrance into the novitiate. To the degree that it is necessary, a candidate's basic understanding of fundamental Christian doctrine should be completed. Gradually taking his first steps on the path of conversion, he should begin the transition from secular life to religious life in fraternity.
St. Francis Friary, Chilaw is situated in the heart of Chilaw city in the Diocese of Chilaw, Sri Lanka. TOR Franciscan Friars who live in this fraternity serve in the neighbouring parishes and schools in their pastoral and spiritual needs.
<This fraternity is situated in Katuwapitiya, Negombo in the Archdiocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka. TOR Franciscan Friars assigned in this fraternity serve as full time confessors, counselors and help the surrounding parishes in pastoral ministries.
TOR Franciscan Provincialate is situated at Bolawalana, Negombo in the Archdiocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This is the fraternity where the Minister Provincial resides and it also serves as the headquarters of the Province where all the administrative and financial activities are governed in collobaration with the Province Council and the Provincial Econome.
TOR Franciscan Minor Seminary is the primary house of formation of the Province of Our Lady of Lanka, Sri Lanka. The candidates who are aspiring to be future Franciscans are trained at this institute by giving formal education. Minor Seminary Formation is for nearly five years. Students from grade nine onwards are admitted here.
The Main purpose of the Minor Seminary is to assist the human and Christian growth of
adolescents who manifest the seed of a vocation to the Franciscan brotherhood and to the ministerial priesthood.
Our Lady of Lanka Friary is situated at Maggona , Sri Lanka in the Archdiocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This is also called the Mother House of TOR Franciscan Friars in Sri Lanka. This Friary is also serves as another income generating venue of the Province.
The Novitiate of our Province is also attached to Our Lady of Lanka Friay at Maggona.
The purpose of the novitiate is to help the novice
more fully understand the essential demands of the vocation to which he feels called so that he may live the evangelical counsels according to our charism. The experience of living the spirit of penance will strengthen his heart and mind and his intention to persevere in his vocation.
The basic purpose of the novitiate, by which a novice begins his life in the Order, is to offer him a genuine experience of what it means to be consecrated to God in the TOR Franciscan Order. This reality is marked by his reception of the habit at the entrance of the Novitiate. It is an intense year when a man receives formation in the contemplative, fraternal and apostolic aspects that comprise the rich tradition that is our spirituality and way of life.
Novices receive classes to help immerse them in our spiritual patrimony and assist them in their transition to full Franciscan life. Most of all, the novitiate is ordered to be an intimate, profound, and life changing experience of God. The novitiate is a year of grace and an essential foundation for the whole life of a religious. As such novices are assigned a novice master who is both knowledgeable and experienced in the spiritual life and especially in the life of St. Francis. The novitiate lasts a canonical year and at the end of this year, novice makes his Temporary profession of his religious life.
Scholasticate is the place where the Friars gain their Philosophical and Theological knowledge. TOR Scholasticate is located at Ampitiya, Kandy. Scholastic friars are to obtain two degrees; Bachelor of philosophy and Bachelor of Theology from the National Seminary, Ampitiya. Apart from that, friars are to undergo a programme for priestly formation. This period lasts 7 years and at the end, they will be accepted for the Holy Order of diaconate and Priesthood respectively.
Christ the King Friary of TOR Franciscan Friars is situated in Weliveriya, Gampaha in the Archdiocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
